Microswitches types and operation
Microswitches , also called microswitches, are electromechanical devices that open and close circuits. They are very small in size and are generally used in industrial and electronic devices to detect mechanical changes or specific positions and as safety mechanisms. Generally, they have a long operating life and do not require frequent replacement.
How does the microswitch work?
The operation of the microswitch is simple, it is composed of an actuator and a spring lever . When the actuator is pressed, the lever moves and causes the contacts inside the microswitch to change state, creating or interrupting the current path through the microswitch. There are different types of microswitches, the most common are:
- the lever microswitches;
- the toggle microswitches;
- the roller lever microswitches.
Other types of microswitches are push-button, magnetic, push-button, slide and safety microswitches.
