Description
The BTicino overvoltage coil, code F80SVP, is an advanced protection accessory designed to be paired with BTDIN series miniature circuit breakers or residual current circuit breakers. Its specific function is to constantly monitor the mains voltage and automatically trip the associated circuit breaker if the voltage exceeds the critical safety threshold (typically above 255V~).
Unlike surge protective devices (SPDs) that respond to very short transient surges (such as lightning), the F80SVP protects against permanent or long-lasting overvoltages, often caused by anomalies in the distribution line or a broken neutral conductor. This type of fault is one of the most dangerous for household appliances, boilers, and home automation systems, which would be quickly damaged by excessive voltage.
The device occupies a single DIN rail and is installed next to the main switch. It features a visual indicator on the front that allows for immediate identification of the device's status. Installation of the F80SVP coil is highly recommended in all areas subject to power grid instability to prevent significant repair costs for home or office electronics.
