Cylindrical C-type fuses are mainly intended for civil or similar use, and up to 400V they also find use in industrial installations.

They are widespread in the Italian market for combined use with switches for domestic protection. A design feature that differentiates them from other types of cylindrical fuses is the presence of the melt indicator, which allows the status of the fuse to be displayed very quickly. The breaking capacity is greater than 50 KA, and the gG tripping characteristics correspond to those required by regulations.
